As we start to look towards 2023, long gone are the days when corporate wellness was a tick box exercise.
With changing demands amongst the workforce, more remote teams than ever before and an uncertain global economic climate, the corporate wellness strategy of a company can now make or break the battle for talent.
Heading into 2023, there’s no doubt that corporate wellness trends will continue to evolve, so let’s take a look at what is around the corner.
Personalised wellbeing
There’s been a steady move towards a more personalised approach to workplace wellness over recent years, especially as employers have become more aware of the impact of poor mental and physical wellbeing amongst teams.
Rather than taking a one size fits all approach, employers will continue to shift towards a corporate wellness offering that meets the unique needs of different individuals. The focus on wellbeing as a part of company culture will continue to gain importance, as employees become wise to tick box corporate wellness and seek out authentic, supportive places to work.
More flexibility than ever
The importance of being able to work flexibly – in terms of both time and location – will continue to dominate amongst corporate wellness industry trends into 2023 and beyond.
Particularly as companies look to retain talented employees, it’s likely that wellbeing strategies will shift attention to how flexible working arrangements can support employee wellbeing. This can look hugely different depending on each individual; it may be a case of taking time out of the day to exercise or spend time with family whereas for others, it could be working abroad for a period.
Team connection
Although workers are less connected physically today, another emerging trend in corporate wellness is the desire for renewed team connection and collaboration when it comes to wellbeing.
53% of employees are keen to take part in an organised movement campaign at work, where they can collectively reach a target with teammates without needing to physically be based in one fixed location[1].
The days of Zoom socials every Friday may be long behind us, but fostering a community spirit within the workplace remains at the heart of a happy workforce.
